Gwaii Haanas National Park Reserve is a remote landscape steeped in spirituality, protected by the Government of Canada and the Council of the Haida Nation honouring ancestral heritage. It is accessible only by boat or float plane. “Gwaii Haanas” means “Islands of Beauty” in the Haida langauge.
The area has a rugged beauty, rich ecology and important cultural sites such as the standing poles at SGang Gwaay (World Heritage Site).
