Accommodation in Northwest Territories

Did you know?

  • Snow from Hot Water

Photographer Priscilla Du Preez caught this phenomenon while staying in the Northwest Territories. She says: “Often in Canada, it reaches below -30C. We were in Yellowknife when the Arctic low-pressure system was rolling through most of Canada, so instead of staying indoors, we headed outside! When you take hot water and throw it into really cold air, it instantly turns into ice and snow. It’s science!”
