Open year round, Montreal's Jean Talon Market is one of the oldest public markets in Canada. Officially opened in May 1933 as the Marché du Nord, its name changed in 1983 to honour Jean Talon, the first intendant of New France. Village-like and family-friendly, the market has local fresh produce, meat, fish, groceries, baked goods, artisan and gourmet foods. See photos of the market.
