The Ananda Arthouse in Forget, SaskatchewanAnanda Arthouse in Forget, Saskatchewan

In 2000, Shannon and Don Shakotko bought Forget's 1904 Catholic rectory, the former home of 13 priests. Shannon and Don reformed the rectory into the Ananda Arthouse, with the idea of supporting and promoting the arts in southeast Saskatchewan. The Arthouse provides a unique and dynamic meeting place where artists and audience can exchange gifts and leave with new ways of seeing the world.

TransCanada Trail

Trans Canada Trail photo by Gear Junkie

The Trans Canada Trail, officially renamed "The Great Trail" in September 2016, is a cross-Canada system of greenways, waterways, and roadways that stretches from the Atlantic to the Pacific to the Arctic oceans. The trail extends over 24,000 kilometres (15,000 miles); it is now the longest recreational, multi-use trail network in the world. The idea for the trail began in 1992, shortly after the Canada 125 celebrations. Since then it has been supported by donations from individuals, corporations, foundations, and all levels of government. For more information on the Trail,, here's a good read from
