The Klondike Gold Rush of 1897-1898, sometimes referred to as the Yukon gold rush, was at that time, the largest gold find in history. The news of the gold didn’t reach the outside world until 1897. Men and women from all walks of life stampeded to and for gold prospecting along the Klondike River near Dawson City, Yukon, Canada. In 1898, the population in the Klondike may have reached 40,000.
