The Polar Bear Express is a Canadian passenger train operated by the Ontario Northland Railway in Northern Ontario. Service was introduced in 1964 with Cochrane railway station serving as the southern terminus of the Polar Bear Express. It operates 5 days per week year-round and connects Cochrane with Moosonee. The Polar Bear Express also carries specialized equipment including a canoe car, boxcars for snowmobiles and all terrain vehicles, chain cars for carrying cars and light trucks and baggage and express cars. (There are no roads in Moosonee) During the summer months there is an additional train on Sundays and often includes dining cars and a full length dome car.
